This sport of the popular Red Fuji was first discovered by Myles
Van Leuven in an orchard near Prescott, WA.
Myra Fuji is a medium to large sized apple which colors up
substantially the entire body of the fruit and is overlaid
with slightly darker pinkish red stripes. The finish color is
a "pinkish red," resembling bagged fujis without the heavy
expense of actually bagging the fruit. The flesh is a light
creamy-yellow color which is dense and crisp with a flavor
sweet, fruity, slightly aromatic and pleasant. Myra exhibits
advanced color development of 14 days over that of standard
Fuji and its known red striped strains. In addition, Myra
matures 7+ days earlier than B. C. #2 and Nagafu #6 Red Fuji strains.
Myra Fuji is an extremely firm apple with very high soluble
solids and outstanding keeping qualities. Blooms in the
mid-season and requires a pollinator. An excellent apple.
