APRICOT VARIETIES
Listed in approximate order of ripening
C&O Apricot trees are propagated on hardy apricot rootstock, which has proven excellent both for its hardiness and compatibility.
TOMCOT (U.S. Plant Patent No. 7034)
Light orange color with trace of blush. Fruit is medium to large. Flesh orange, firm and coarse. Dessert quality good. Tree vigorous and an early bloomer.
GOLDRICH
The fruit averages large size, oval shape and fairly symmetrical which develops a waxy bright orange ground color. Flesh an attractive deep orange, firm, fine-textured. Sometimes subject to spotting.
RIVAL
Fruit is large, oval in shape and symmetrical. The skin is a light orange and develops a pronounced blush on exposed cheeks. Mildly flavored deep orange flesh.
GOLDBAR (U.S. Plant Patent No. 7045)
Light yellow-orange with 20% blush. Very large fruit. Good dessert quality. Tree vigorous. Flowers heavily but sets light crop.
GOLDSTRIKE (U.S. Plant Patent No. 7035)
Similar to Goldbar in size and appearance. Slightly glossy. Dessert quality is fair to good. Turns mushy if canned. Vigorous.
SUN-GLO
Fruit is medium size, fine quality and flavor with deep apricot-yellow flesh. Attains its color before it ripens so can be picked firm-ripe. Fruit bud hardiness.
PERFECTION
Fruit oval to oblong, large size. Flesh and skin color a clear, yellow-orange to deep orange at full maturity. Quality, texture and flavor good. Very hardy.
WENATCHEE
Large size, oval shape, flesh and skin yellow-colored. A heavy annual bearer and excellent for home use.
TILTON
One of the leading commercial varieties for drying and canning. Fruit medium to small in size. Fine flavor, color golden yellow with a dark red blush.
